Study Builder

What is this? This tool builds an .osc (Open Scale Chain) file for self-hosting an online study. An .osc file chains together consent forms, multiple scales, branching conditions, and completion redirects into a single runnable study session.

Two ways to use this:

• Download .osc — Get just the chain file. You’ll need to set up the runner files and scales yourself.
• Build Server Package — Download a complete ZIP with the .osc, all referenced .osd scales, the runner, data collection endpoint, and a landing page. Upload the whole folder to any PHP host and it works.

Tip: A server with cPanel is an easy graphical way to deploy — upload the unzipped folder via File Manager. No command-line access required. Scales can be selected from the OpenScales catalog or uploaded as custom .osd files.
